Fall Farm Wedding Celebration
Last fall, Elle and Forrest traded formal traditions for a relaxed wedding weekend centered entirely around the people and animals they love most. Hosted on their family’s countryside property, the celebration unfolded over a warm autumn day filled with simple, meaningful moments that reflected who they are as a couple.
The weekend began with a birdwatching nature walk through their property, where guests split into teams and competed for prizes along the way. Elle made the perfect guide, pointing out local wildlife, native plants, and agricultural details while sharing her passion for wilderness conservation.
Photographing Elle with her horses was especially important. Her love of horses and backcountry horsemanship are such significant parts of her life, both personally and professionally, and we were able to capture several beautiful portraits of her riding and spending time with them throughout the day.
Later in the afternoon, guests gathered around an old-fashioned cider press, taking turns pressing apples from the family farm into fresh cider that was served throughout the evening. Friends and family lingered in the autumn sunshine, talking, laughing, and enjoying the slower pace of the day together.
It was incredibly special to witness and document a wedding that felt so authentic to the couple. From nature walks and horses to cider pressing and a home-cooked dinner in the barn, every part of the day reflected the life they’ve built together, and I’m so grateful I got to be there to capture it.
